From install to shipping code in under five minutes.

Setup

Three steps. Zero config.

Step 01

Install the extension

Add GS Pro Pilot from the Chrome Web Store. Click "Add to Chrome" and accept permissions.

Step 02

Open any Apps Script project

Navigate to script.google.com and open a project. The copilot sidebar appears automatically.

Step 03

On the free plan we host inference. For BYOK, paste your API key in Settings — it never leaves your browser.

Daily moves

Four ways to work

Pick the mode that fits the task. Chat for quick answers, Plan for reviewed changes, Agent for multi-file edits, Inline for flow.

Chat — ask anything

Open the sidebar and type a question. GS Pro Pilot reads your full project context before answering — files, triggers, OAuth scopes, and dependencies.

// You ask:
"Why does onEdit fire twice?"

// GS Pro Pilot reads your triggers,
// finds the duplicate installable trigger,
// and explains how to fix it.

Plan — reviewed changesets

For bigger tasks, use Plan mode. The model writes a step-by-step plan, you review it, then it executes each step with diffs you can accept or reject.

// Plan: migrate to V8 runtime
Step 1: Update appsscript.json
Step 2: Replace var → const/let
Step 3: Convert to arrow functions
Step 4: Run test suite

Agent — multi-file edits

Agent mode spins up sub-agents that navigate your Project Graph, edit multiple files, and report back with clean diffs. Ideal for refactors that span files.

// Agent navigating Project Graph
→ Reading Code.gs
→ Reading Utils.gs
→ Reading appsscript.json
✓ Edited 3 files, +47 −12

Inline — tab to accept

As you type, ghost-text completions appear inline. Press Tab to accept, Esc to dismiss. The model sees your surrounding code for context-aware suggestions.

function getSheet(name) {
  // Start typing...
  return SpreadsheetApp
    .getActiveSpreadsheet()
    .getSheetByName(name); // ← Tab
Prompting

Vague in, vague out

The more specific your prompt, the better the result. Here's the difference.

Vague
“Fix my code”
Specific
“The onEdit trigger in Code.gs fires twice when I paste multiple cells. Add a lock and debounce with a 500ms PropertiesService flag.”

Safety

Read it before you run it

→Read every diff before you accept. The model is good, not infallible.
→Use Plan mode for anything touching production data — review the plan first.
→API keys stay in your browser's extension storage. We never see or store them.
→Sensitive data in your code is sent to the model provider you choose. Pick a provider whose terms you trust.
